When this happens, the user will click on an icon in the portal and it will never finish loading. In the status bar (bottom left of browser), there will be a "Done" message with a warning icon (yellow triangle). If you double click that warning symbol, it will suggest a code location that received an "Access Denied" error.
There is no mixed content in our site but, for some reason we have not yet determined, the browser will detect that it is mixed content (even when other computers at the same location with identical setups will not). One workaround is to click "No" to allow mixed content. That seems to let the process complete and the pages will load properly. However, that means you will be prompted most of the time when you log in.
A more permanent workaround (until we determine a fix) is to do the following:
- Set the browser to ignore the warning (on Trusted Sites only)
- Click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Security
- Select the "Security" tab -> Click the "Custom Level" button
- Be sure you have "Trusted Sites" selected (the default)
- In the "Miscellaneous" section change “Display mixed content” to Enable.
- Click on Tools -> Internet Options -> Security
